At Flourishing Life, we strongly believe in everyone’s need to feel connected, valued, and empowered to thrive in successful ways. We’ve brought together this passion, as well as clinical knowledge, research, and experience, to specifically work with educators and community influencers who are impacting the lives of the next generation. Our model cultivates personal growth through the assessment and analysis of a person’s strengths and potential to flourish.
The Impact of a Supportive Setting
A supportive setting is where educators and youth workers have the opportunity to facilitate a holistic approach to enhance academic achievement and healthy psycho-social development in a safe and transformative learning environment.
Flourishing Life understands the importance for students to constructively draw upon their personal strengths, environmental supports, and performance skills in navigating and negotiating life’s challenges. If done so, they are much more likely to excel academically, develop their optimal socio-emotional capacity, and be better prepared for their unique journey forward in life. This is where positive psychology comes into play.
What is Positive Psychology?
Zoë Alford and Mathew A. White’s 2015 research showed that interest in a strengths-based approach to enhancing the positive developmental pathways of children and youth has increased significantly, with a growing interest in the study and application of positive psychology in education.
Positive psychology embraces a paradigm shift from focusing on “what’s wrong” to “what’s right” in youth and the organisational culture of the institutions they are engaged with. This is used as a starting point for fostering academic success, resilience, character strengths, life skills, and enhanced well-being.
We Are Here to Support
With this understanding, we’ve created a simple way for schools and community organizations to assess, analyze and activate the potential of every individual. By identifying an individual's unique strengths, Flourishing Life supports educators and youth workers to effectively connect, determine, and allocate resources in meaningful ways that heighten the probability of sustainable success.
